The Choczewo 400kV station is taking shape

Contractor teams have just completed the installation of primary equipment in the 400 kV switchyard bays. This section of the station is scheduled to be commissioned first and will enable power evacuation from the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm (approx. 1.2 GW).

In February, as planned, the final batches of 400 kV disconnectors, instrument transformers, and surge arresters were delivered. Installation of primary equipment is ongoing in additional switching bays.

The construction of cable ducts has been completed, and cabling is currently underway to connect the installed primary equipment to control cabinets inside the technology building.

In March, a full set of protection cabinets arrived at the construction site. These cabinets will ensure reliable operation of the transmission network by monitoring and responding to any disturbances.

Work is also progressing on other fronts. The guardhouse has been completed, and work continues on internal roads and the perimeter fence. The station will soon gain asphalt access to the county road and exterior lighting.

The 400 kV Choczewo substation is a key element of the power infrastructure that will allow PSE to transmit electricity generated by offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea to the National Power System—and ultimately deliver it to consumers across the country.

Completion and commissioning of the Choczewo station is scheduled for 2027.
