PM Donald Tusk presented a new economic plan for Poland!
Prime Minister Donald Tusk presented a new economic plan for Poland at the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW). The event was called "Poland. The Year of Breakthrough."
Investments, investments, investments
"2025 will be the year of a great breakthrough, the one we have been waiting for so long," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the beginning. He also mentioned Bolesław the Brave, the first crowned king of Poland, and added, "It's time to return to his courage. I am convinced that what remains in our historical memory is the fact that Poland was then elevated to the first league of European states," he emphasized. He added that up until now, Poland had been trying to catch up with other countries, but in his opinion, the time had come to "outpace" them economically.
According to Tusk, "the year of the breakthrough" is the simplest strategy possible, namely "investments, investments, investments."
The Prime Minister conveyed that in 2025, investments in Poland would amount to "650 billion PLN." And that is a cautious estimate; it will be a record amount," he added. He emphasized that this means "accelerating the Polish economy" and mentioned the unlocking of funds from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) in this context.
Energy: The breakthrough must be based on energy.
"We need more of it, and it must be cheaper. We must make very concrete decisions on stable, guaranteed energy supplies in order for investments to grow. He added, in this context, offshore wind farms in the Baltic, renewable energy sources (RES), but above all, nuclear energy.
We are after the decision regarding the nuclear power plant, here in my region of Kashubia, but we are also after a decision to enable the identification of a second, potential location for a nuclear power plant, he added. Poland's transmission network is also to be modernized.
Donald Tusk also stated that the government wants to invest PLN 80 billion in the Polish railway system and will continue to develop road infrastructure.
