PGE Signs Agreements for Central Power Dispatch and LTE450

PGE Distribution has signed two key agreements with the Ministry of State Assets for co-financing projects under the A2.1.1 investment "Investments Supporting Robotization and Digitization in Enterprises" from the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan (KPO).

The total value of the support is nearly PLN 184 million, which will be allocated for the construction of the Central Power Dispatch and LTE450 network.

"The development of distribution networks is one of the key elements of effective energy transformation and one of the priorities of the PGE Polish Energy Group's strategy. The implementation of the Central Power Dispatch and LTE450 network projects will strengthen supervision over the operation of the energy distribution network and enable effective and secure digital communication, which is becoming increasingly important with the growth of distributed renewable energy sources," said Dariusz Marzec, CEO of PGE Polish Energy Group.

LTE450 will ensure reliable operational communication, while the Central Power Dispatch will enable efficient network management. Both projects are another step towards increasing Poland’s energy security and accelerating the sector’s digitization.

In October 2022, as part of the LTE450 Program, PGE announced a tender for the modernization and adaptation of telecommunications towers for PGE Distribution. In November, a tender was also announced for the purchase and implementation of primary and backup power systems, as well as for the acquisition and implementation of mobile backhaul (MBH) telecommunication network components and a service quality monitoring system. The LTE450 Program implementation and network rollout are progressing steadily according to the milestones of the schedule, which include the start of LTE450 services in 2024 and the continued installation of RAN equipment and construction of network radio coverage, with a completion deadline by the end of December 2025 for the PGE Distribution area.
