PGE launches Poland’s first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) service dedicated to the energy sector

PGE Systemy Launches Poland’s First MVNO M2M Service for Smart Metering in Cooperation with PGE Dystrybucja and Polkomtel.

PGE Systemy, in collaboration with PGE Dystrybucja and Polkomtel, has become the first company in Poland to launch the operation of Smart Meters (LZO) using a Machine-to-Machine Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO M2M) service. This solution enables the installation of PGE Systemy SIM cards in smart meters, with a portion of these cards set to operate in the LTE network currently being developed under the LTE450 Program.

“The launch of the MVNO M2M service is a breakthrough step toward the modern and efficient operation of smart metering. With full control over the SIM cards, PGE Systemy can ensure the highest quality of service and offer flexibility in network management. We are proud to introduce technologically innovative solutions to the Polish market,” said Robert Grochowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Systemy.

“The implementation of this project will ensure stability and security of the services provided by PGE Dystrybucja. Thanks to the new MVNO M2M service, we can significantly streamline the logistics and operation of Smart Meters, which will allow us to maintain real-time control over the performance of the network,” added Jacek Drozd, President of the Management Board of PGE Dystrybucja.
