Enea purchased six wind farms with a total capacity of 83.5 MW
Enea Nowa Energia, a company from the Enea Group, has acquired six wind farms with a total capacity of 83.5 MW from European Energy, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Along with the wind farms, Enea will also take over a photovoltaic farm project with a capacity of 25 MW, which is at the "ready to build" stage. The total value of the transaction will amount to up to 914 million PLN.
Enea is consistently implementing its development strategy for the Enea Group up to 2035 in the renewable energy sector. The acquisition of six wind farms with a total capacity of 83.5 MW from European Energy significantly increases the renewable energy potential in Enea's portfolio. As a result of this investment, the installed capacity in renewable energy sources within the Enea Group will increase by 17% (492 MW was the installed capacity in renewable energy before the acquisition of the farms – data for 2024). The acquired wind farms are modern installations, utilizing turbines from leading manufacturers: Siemens Gamesa, General Electric, and Nordex.
"Enea is not slowing down; we continue to develop in the renewable energy sector. The acquisition of ready-to-operate wind farms allows us to immediately increase our market share in renewable energy without needing a lengthy development process. This transaction strengthens our position in the market. Implementing projects like today's acquisition of wind farms will enable the Enea Group to successfully transform into a green, reliable, and modern energy corporation within the next ten years" – said Grzegorz Kinelski, CEO of Enea.
Additionally, as part of the transaction, the acquisition of a 25 MW solar farm project at the "ready to build" stage is planned, to be developed alongside one of the wind farms.
Enea Nowa Energia, a subsidiary of the Enea Group responsible for renewable energy investments, is currently negotiating further acquisitions – both wind and solar farms. This confirms the long-term development strategy and commitment to the country's energy transformation.
