PSE with additional founds for grid investment

BGK has increased its loan to Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. by over PLN 800 million. Mirosław Czekaj, President of the Management Board of BGK, and Professor Marta Postuła, First Vice President of the Management Board of BGK, signed an amendment with the company, which will grant it a total of PLN 11.7 billion.

These funds will be used to develop and modernize transmission infrastructure, including connecting new energy sources and their customers. These are key actions that will strengthen Poland's energy security.

"The development of electricity grids under KPO is not just an investment in infrastructure. It is also an investment in Poland's energy security and economic development. The National Reconstruction Plan gives us a unique opportunity to achieve ambitious goals. Thanks to these funds, we can modernize, digitize, and expand transmission and distribution networks. Without a modern distribution sector, we will not be able to deliver produced or stored energy to Poles and the Polish economy. Only modern power systems can provide us with an adequate level of security," says Mirosław Czekaj, President of the Management Board of BGK.

"Without a resilient, modern transmission system, not only the energy transition itself will be impossible, but also the digital transformation of the Polish economy. Without energy, there is no innovation, but at the same time, the energy sector needs innovative solutions to meet new challenges. The loan from the KPO funds enables the implementation of the complex task of modernizing and strengthening the resilience of the Polish energy system," says Prof. Marta Postuła, First Vice President of the Management Board of BGK.
