Billions in Grid Investments to Support New Power Plants
Energy operators are planning multi-billion investments to expand and modernize power grids, enabling the integration of new power plants. Key projects will focus on Pomerania, where the largest offshore wind farms and Poland’s first nuclear reactors will be built.
Polish Power Grids (PSE) are currently analyzing the feasibility of an "energy highway" — a dedicated transmission line designed to transport electricity from offshore wind farms to southern Poland and beyond. The initiative also seeks to engage Czech partners, potentially opening new opportunities for cross-border energy cooperation. The rapid expansion of renewable energy, along with plans to build gas and nuclear power plants, requires major investments in grid modernization and expansion.
